Invisible Friends

From the time we are born, we receive messages from Spirit via our invisible friends. These messages no only help us live our lives, but also enable us to die well. Our invisible friends interact with us on many levels, they provide unconditional love, accept us for whom we are and behave as any true friend would on the earth plane. Receiving information from our invisible friends should be as natural as breathing, but it’s not. One of the reasons for this is as we grow up, their messages get lost or distorted as we try to translate them, thus causing confusion, which can result in us doubting, misunderstanding or ignoring whatever it is we heard, felt or saw within the etherics. For something so precious and natural to feel so unnatural, is all part of us learning about spirit, and who we are in the process. However, having disconnected, we can easily reconnect to our invisible friends any time we want. To interact with them as effortlessly as we used to do when we were toddlers, we need to return to the time of our births to understand why things have gone so pear shaped.

I am sure that many of you who are listening will be aware that when we are born our minds are akin to a clean slate. We are totally open to the concepts of anything can happen and all things are possible. Therefore, we are able to accept and embrace Spirit’s presence in its purist form as a normal state of affairs. This is because at this age, we don’t have the ability to questions. Although babies and toddlers are able to see the energy of spirit in its purest form, since we are all unique, it will take the form of what ever we find to be the most pleasing to us at the time. What is most pleasing to us in our adult years are our spiritual ancestors, our guides, guardian angels and of course, the 72 angels of the zodiac, who were appointed at our births to watch over us. When we were babies and toddlers, our invisible friends appeared to us as light energies. As we get older, these light energies manifest into what we can relate to, such as animals, children and adults who reside in Spirit.

I am also sure that many of you will have seen youngsters up to the age of 2. 3 and 4 looking intently into the air as though they were talking or listening to an invisible being, which they often refer to by name. Such activities are signs that these young children are in fact interacting with Spirit as naturally as they do with their parents. However, as we get older our minds develop and we learn to questions. Unless we are brought up in a culture that respects Spirit as being a living breathing part of who we are, the materialistic ways of the world overwhelm our senses and start to suppress and then close down our ability to receive messages from our invisible friends.

All too soon, this ability is relabelled ‘imagination’ a skill that it is thought the brain starts to develop between the ages of three and six. By the time we get to five or six, most of us have not only lost touch with our invisible friends, but we have also been programmed to believe that we made them up and that they have no relevance or purpose. Furthermore, that interacting with them is not a healthy pass time – which it isn’t if it is not managed within its proper context. As a consequence, we forget how simple and pleasurable it is to interact with Spirit in this way and we stop receiving the information that we need from our invisible friends on a conscious level.

At this juncture, I think it is interesting to note that if we are encourage to disconnect from our invisible friends, many of us start to suffer from nightmares. By then, parents are well into reading fairy tales to their children and man of us are also introduced to one of the mainstream religions, some of which separate Spirit from Nature. The irony is, at the same time all this is happening; we are also encouraged to pray to invisible beings that take form of saints, gods and goddesses. Prayer is another way of talking to our invisible friends, it is an essential and powerful too have in the maintenance toolbox of life. However, the questions has to be asked, ‘what is the difference between toddlers talking to their invisible friends and grownups talking to their invisible deities?”

To my mind, there isn’t one.

What is becoming obvious to those who don’t believe in co-incidences is the inconsistances that are making themselves known. One has to ask if there is a link between children experiencing nightmares whilst being discourage to interact with their invisible friends, during which time their brains have started to develop the ability to imagine. Surely, children talking to their invisible friends are an essential part of a child’s development, and the fact they clearly interact with them, brings into question the source of imagination itself. Therefore, are the nightmares that some children experience partially due to a form of separation anxiety, brought on by the enforced replacement of their invisible friends with characters found in fairy tales or the deities that spearhead the different religions?

What also needs to be born in mind is the self same characters in fairy tales and the deities are being continually reinvested and relabelled as we understand more about how the mind works, coupled with the ever evolving interpretation of Spirit, the aliases of which can also be found in the archetypes used in psychology. These disparities are partly responsible for creating the confusion that eventually stops us from interacting with our invisible friends, as naturally as we did when we were toddlers. It could be said that if invisible friends fall outside of the norm of psychological and religious understanding, then a person is considered either to be suffering from a mental illness or that their psychic ability is the work of the devil.

Again, to my mind, this stance has by default resulted in brain washing us into believing that if our invisible friends do not look like those found I fairy tales or are similar to the icons and symbols that are to be found in the various places of worship, then they don’t exists. If we think something doesn’t exist, we behave as though it doesn’t even though it does. As a consequence of this disconnection, a child’s natural and unique line of spiritual communication is replaced with an overall fictitious or religious norm that dictates what many find to be acceptable, yet is anything but natural.

However, there are those who were able to accommodate the transition seamlessly without suffering nightmares and others have managed to maintain their invisible friendships. However for these people, confusion can arise because as they grew up their experiences may lead us to thinking that invisible friends don’t exists because things didn’t pan out the way that they had originally planned. Therefore they start to doubt and through doubting disconnect themselves. Even so, what needs to be remembered is that Spirit is metamorphic by nature; therefore, it simply changes itself into a form that will suit us – a form that will include both believers and non-believers.

This is because the very nature of how we interact with our invisible friends is further redefined and relabelled by what we think and do. In other words we are drawn to activities, which themselves maintain that connection, examples of which are gardening, volunteering, mountaineering, reading or writing – the list is endless. Spirit also uses our invisible friends to make contact with us through our dreams, ideas, and thoughts - and last but not least – our five senses. In other words, we may disconnect from our invisible friends but they do not disconnect from us. Their footprint can be seen in every aspect of our lives, irrespective of whether we are consciously connected to them or not. All you have to do is to look for their footprint and by doing so, you reconnect to them on a conscious level, in whatever form it is that is most pleasing to you at the time. This form may well be different to what it was when you were a child, and if so, yo simply ask if they are the same entity.

There are a number of triggers that can be used to enable re-connection and here are a few of them. If you can remember your invisible friends name, call it and it will come, probably in the form of a memory or thought to begin with. If you get a response and doubt or think that you are making it up, you will disconnect, so simply reconnect by calling their name again. Another way is to remember that your favourite game was as a child and then start to play it. Then there is going through your box of childhood memories. As you work with any one of these triggers. You are revealing the natural way you interacted with Spirit before the complications of life start to intervene. One thing to always bear I mind is that your invisible friends will never give you a negative thought, if you receive one, it is your way of sabotaging the process, probably due to fear brought on that your long lost invisible friends wont appear when you do call them.
